オートバイライダーにとって、とても良い教材となる動画を見つけたので共有・紹介します。と言うのも、オートバイのライディングで基本となる物理学がここに潜んでいるからです。
I found a video that is a very good educational material for motorcycle riders, so I would like to share and introduce it to you. That is because the basic physics of motorcycle riding is hidden here.
この実験は、スロープを使って玉を転がした際、直線のスロープよりもサイクロイド曲線で作られたスロープの方が早く目的地まで到達する事を示しています。つまり、私達は直観的に直線のスロープが良いと考えがちですが、実際には、スクロイド曲線の方が効率が高い事を物理法則が示しています。
同様な事は、私達がオートバイを走らせる場面でも起きています。つまり、直線的なラインに沿って走った方が良いと考えがちですが、実際には、この実験と同様に物理法則が働くので、効率の良い曲線ラインがあるのです。それは、サイクロイド曲線とは異なる曲線です。
This experiment shows that when rolling a ball down a slope, a slope made of a cycloid curve will reach the destination faster than a straight slope. In other words, we tend to intuitively think that a straight slope is better, but in reality, the laws of physics show that a cycloid curve is more efficient.
A similar thing happens when we ride a motorcycle. In other words, we tend to think that it is better to ride along a straight line, but in reality, the laws of physics work just like in this experiment, so there is an efficient curved line. It is a curve different from a cycloid curve.
