世界各国の感染状況は、人口あたりの新規感染者数【感染密度】で比較しなければ、その被害の深刻さの判断は出来ません。【感染密度】は、人口1億人あたり日別・新規感染者数を一覧表で示し、深刻度が高くなっている程に欄を濃い色で塗り分けています。

【 デルタ株で、世界は感染拡大の兆し 】
全世界での新規感染者数は、5月初旬をピークに抑制・減少を続けていましたが、2週間前、6月中旬から感染が拡大の傾向が表われています。特に、インドを除く全世界での新規感染者数（グラフの緑色線）を見れば、4週間前、6月初旬から感染拡大が始まっている事がはっきりしています。
この拡大する結果を招いたのは、英国やロシア、インドネシアなどで急激な感染拡大を起こしている事が影響しています。そして、それらの国々ではインドで確認された変異株・“デルタ株” による新規感染者の割合が急激に増えていて、従来の変異株よりも感染力が強力である事が確認されている “デルタ株” によって、一週間毎に新規感染者数が倍近くに増え続けています。
更に、この “デルタ株” は世界74か国で感染が確認されている事から、英国やロシアで起きている様に、今後はそれらの国々で急激な感染拡大を起こす高い可能性があります。
【 デルタ株とワクチン接種効果 】
この “デルタ株” による、次の世界的な感染拡大を防ぐ方策は、現状では ワクチン接種を行なう事です。しかし、イスラエルや英国など、国民100人あたり100回を超える接種を終えて、ワクチン接種率が世界トップレベルの国々でさえ、主に若年層を中心にして “デルタ株” による急激な感染拡大が起きている事は無視できない事実です。
従って、感染して犠牲になる人を一人でも減らす為には、ワクチン接種を進めるだけではなく、一定の地域毎に、感染拡大が発
生する前に、未然に感染拡大の兆候を把握して、それに応じて地域ごとに人々の行動規制やより積極的なワクチン接種を進めていく事が必要でしょう。そして、地域ごとに未然に感染拡大の兆候を把握する為に、下水PCR検査や公共空間での空気中のウイルス検知などの方法を採用する事が求められるでしょう。
【 各国の状況 】
上記で述べた、“デルタ株” による感染拡大によって、英国やロシア、イスラエルやインドネシアではっきりと感染が拡大している他に、ナミビアや南アフリカ、チュニジアなど、アフリカの各国で感染拡大が発生しています。
そして、“デルタ株” 以外には、ブラジル型と呼ばれる “ガンマ株” によって、南米の ブラジルやアルゼンチン、ウルグアイなどで深刻な感染状況が数週間以上に亘って報告され続けています。
また、モンゴルが深刻な感染状況に見舞われ続けており、アジアでは最も深刻な状況に陥っている国の一つになっています。 なお、日本は、ワクチンの接種実績が 国民100人あたり 27回に過ぎず（6月23日現在/ Our World in Data ）、単にワクチン接種を進めるだけでなく、地域ごとの 下水PCR 検査と 変異株検出体制を整えて、その結果によって 地域ごとの人々の行動規制や積極的なワクチン接種体制を採るべきでしょう。
